Welcome
In recent years increasing interest has been shown in the rich and varied heritage of historic parks, gardens and other designed landscapes of Britain. Among the organisations taking an active interest in these fascinating places are the County Gardens Trusts, which are now established in many parts of the country.

Northumbria Gardens Trust
Northumbria - which for these purposes can be defined as the region between the Tees and the Tweed - has established its own Gardens Trust. The Northumbria Gardens Trust seeks to research, record and describe the historic parks and gardens of the region, drawing attention to their beauties and significance. It will promote public awareness of the fascinating places and the need to conserve and manage them sympathetically.

The Trust has a role to play as a point of contact for those seeking advice on the care of historic gardens, and endeavours to draw together a wide range of interested groups and individuals to explore ways of sharing our enthusiasm for this rich, diverse and intriguing legacy.
